Dinsos Ingin KSB Siap Antisipasi Potensi Banjir

KSB must Be Ready to Anticipate Flood Risk in Jakarta

The Jakarta Social Agency (Dinsos) revealed, the Disaster Preparedness Village (KSB) at urban village level must be active in strengthening consolidation and communication to anticipate flood risk in Jakarta.

They (KSB) need to mobilize community participation when facing the upcoming rainy season

Moreover, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the peak rain is expected to occur in January to February 2020.

"They (KSB) need to mobilize community participation when facing the upcoming rainy season," expressed Protection and Social Guarantee Division Head, Tarmijo, Wednesday (11/19).

They must always coordinate with the local urban village and sub-district in mobilizing community participation.

"We want them (KSB) in each urban village to be maximized," he asserted.

Thus far there have been 84 KSBs in flood-prone areas spread across five cities. Generally they are already equipped with public kitchen, tents, rolling tarps, as well as food and drink needs such as rice, instant noodle, canned fish and cookies.

"We'll ask them to form a paguyuban (community), as well as strengthen coordination and facilitate the exchange of information through technological developments," he stated.
